Within the "Friuli Venezia Giulia Region system," we provide shared logistical assets and development tools to serve institutions and the economic fabric. Our goal is to develop and/or strengthen national and international alliances to position Pordenone as a reference hub in the future European commercial corridors.

All this while integrating economic development and environmental sustainability, through the enhancement of modal shift from road to rail, supply chain optimization, and the reduction of harmful emissions. Vision

The phrase "Beyond Logistics" encapsulates our strategic vision: to establish Interporto Pordenone as an indispensable reference point for the industrial fabric of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Eastern Veneto, particularly for the manufacturing sector. By proactively responding to the growing need for advanced intermodal solutions, we provide companies with an essential infrastructural asset to compete in the global landscape.

Our vocation is to establish ourselves as a first-class rail hub and a fully integrated system with the ports of Northern Italy, capable of ensuring direct, seamless, and highly efficient connections to Europe's major commercial corridors.

Within this platform, a well-structured system of freight forwarders, warehouses, and advanced logistics solutions converges in perfect synergy, supported by a network of top-level operational and technical services, such as specialized workshops for vehicle assistance. In this ecosystem, Interporto Pordenone translates the integration of transport, storage, and dedicated services for operators into a tangible competitive advantage, facilitating access to international markets and supporting the long-term growth of the local economic system.

Our history: 50 years of evolution 1976-2026

The history of Interporto Pordenone represents a journey of continuous growth, deeply tied to the development of the economic fabric of North-Eastern Italy.

Founded on 12th October 1976, to establish the fruit and vegetable market serving the provincial territory, the company has evolved its original mission to proactively respond to the new needs of the production system.

In the 1990s, the area underwent significant requalification, driven by the settlement of leading customs and logistics operators. The hub thus expanded its operational horizons, structuring itself as a strategic node for international trade exchange services.

A decisive institutional milestone was achieved in 2000 with the approval of the Production Settlements Plan (P.I.P.) by the Municipality of Pordenone, which formally recognized the area as an infrastructure of primary regional interest. The following year, the signing of the implementation agreement with the Municipal Administration entrusted the Company with the study, design, and development of the entire hub, marking the beginning of the actual infrastructural transformation.

In 2010, the construction of the current Intermodal Terminal began, the operational core that consolidates Pordenone as the reference logistics hub for the entire North-East. The completion of the P.I.P. in June 2023 inaugurated a new season of urban planning aimed at further expansion and modernization of assets. In confirmation of this virtuous path, in 2024 the United Interports Union (UIR) chose Pordenone to host the national event "Interports at the Center," officially certifying the operational maturity and leading role achieved by Interporto Pordenone in the national landscape.

A look to the future

2026, the year of our fiftieth anniversary, represents a fundamental point of synthesis and relaunch for the hub's development strategy. This milestone coincides with the launch of direct rail operations from the Pordenone yard in partnership with InRail S.p.A., consolidating our role as a primary operational hub. At the same time, the territorial expansion plan launched in 2025 with the acquisition of new strategic areas in the Vallenoncello industrial zone demonstrates the commitment to continuously strengthen ties with the local production fabric.

Our vision for the coming years is built on three fundamental pillars:

  • the complete digitalization of the interport ecosystem
  • the enhancement of the Intermodal Terminal's infrastructure
  • the definition of a new governance model for the terminal through a mixed public-private partnership company.

This final element is designed to ensure stable, long-lasting, and efficiency-oriented management of the intermodal terminal, securing Interporto Pordenone's leading role in the evolution of modern logistics.
